Introducing Terminal Password Manager: Your Ultimate Offline Security Companion

COST: FREE! $0.00

Hey there! If you’re like me, you've probably tried a dozen different password managers—some of them fancy with all the bells and whistles, others just too complicated to set up. And let’s be honest, the idea of storing all your most sensitive information in the cloud can be a little nerve-wracking. That’s why I decided to build something that fits my style: an offline, secure, and no-nonsense Terminal Password Manager.

One of the main reasons I created this tool is that it had to be offline. Let’s face it: anything online is prone to attack. I wanted a solution that keeps my data where it belongs—on my own device, completely under my control. No cloud storage, no syncing with servers, just pure offline security.

I’m a bit of a nostalgic (as can be seen by the BBS style game L.O.R.D.), so I designed this tool to feel like those classic DOS and terminal apps we used to love. But don’t let the retro simple vibes fool you—this password manager packs some serious power under the hood.

Here are a few features I’m particularly excited about:

  • 100%! Offline Security: No internet connection, no cloud storage, no worries. Your data stays on your device, where you control it. With everything encrypted locally, you can rest easy knowing your information is safe from prying eyes.

  • TOTP Integration: This is one of the few if ONLY FREE PWM with built in 2FA generator.  Need to generate two-factor authentication (2FA) codes? No problem! My password manager lets you create and store TOTP keys right alongside your passwords, ensuring you’re always prepared to log in securely.

  • Credit Card Management: It’s not just for passwords. You can securely store credit card information, complete with masked display options, so you can view and copy your details with confidence.

  • Custom Encryption: Every piece of sensitive data is encrypted with a custom encryption method that once took 300yrs to decrypt, now with an added feature to prevent that, presents an almost air tight protection. Even if someone gets their hands on your database files, they’re going to have a tough time making any sense of it. This was further tested with A.I. and given the method, the A.I. was still unable to crack it. So I was happy with it. Even with the source code, they cannot break the code.

  • Fully Menu-Driven: While it doesn’t have a GUI, it’s entirely menu-driven, making it easy to navigate. You can quickly jump to the features you use most without needing to remember any command-line inputs.

  • Simple Setup: No complicated installation or setup processes. Just download, extract to any folder, run, and you’re ready to go. To uninstall - delete the folder. I do not use hidden directories or registry entries. You control this app at all times

Building this tool has been a passion project of mine, and I think you’re going to find it really useful—especially if you’re like me and want to keep your security locked down tight without the fuss.

So, whether you’re looking to ditch the cloud, take a step back into the world of terminal interfaces, or just need a rock-solid password manager that won’t let you down, give Terminal Password Manager a try. It’s built for people who value simplicity, security, and control over their digital lives.

Terminal Password Manager Download

Terminal Password Manager:

UPDATE: Aug 28th, 2024 No longer need python installed!

DISCLAIMER: TOPT Requires python to be installed

DOS PWM with theme inspired by L.O.R.D.! (Seth Able)

Download updated releases and just .exe file:

To change the default Idle time (for logging out) create a text file called

pwmii.cfg

and add the line:

 idle=xxx

where xxx = number of seconds. 0=never log out.

Make sure there is no whitespaces between the "=" No quotes

New feature, from main menu, (menu item not added yet) type "W" and the record number to acccess that record instantly. Useful for sites you visit a lot. I do not have a checks and balance in there yet, so try to go to a record that exists until I check that. (ex. W23 will take you to record 23, again, no spaces)
